Exactly what is a Puff Bar?

The Puff Bar has been around for a long time. In the first 20th century, the concept of the Puff Bar was devised by a man named Richard C. Laramy. This bar stool was made to make it easier for folks to smoke. We were holding not the initial “pipe” style smoking devices though. Prior to the creation of the Puff Bar, smokers had to either take a seat on the floor of a smoky bar or stand up before a dirty grill.

Back then, whatever you did to smoke was inhaled through the mouth and blow in to the air like you were blowing out birthday candles. There was really no other method. Smoking became popular and then smokers tried to get new ways to do it. Soon, smokers started using hinged, revolving devices that would let them smoke without having to sit back.

The initial devices came later on. They might rotate once you took a drag. These devices eventually evolved into the modern puff machine we know today. The initial models were probably made out of brass or steel and were attached to bars set inside a brick or stone abode.

Eventually, these evolved into a contraption referred to as a hookah. Hookah’s are installed to your bathroom sink. Inside there exists a water tube. The water fills up the tube and forces a continuing stream of water through the hookah.

Eventually, someone decided to attach the bar to something that was outside. This would prevent smoke from entering your house. These contraptions soon evolved into the modern-day bar and smokers could now sit down and revel in a smoke while these were working. Before the invention of the Puff Bar, this would not need been possible.

How the Puff Bar came about is shrouded in mystery. Some say that the inspiration came from an army officer named Captain William Blunt. When he was stationed at the Western Front, the elements was cold and he wanted something warm to sit in. He might have looked at a vintage stove or something similar. 1 day, he took some materials and fashioned a Puff Bar out of these.

The initial bar that Blunt ever designed was considered by some to be crudely fashioned. It didn’t have a design that could allow visitors to smoke. This bar wouldn’t normally have the temperature controls that a smoker would have to use. It would not need the design that would allow smokers to pack their very own cigarettes. The problem with this particular initial bar was that it could take a whole evening for Puff Bar somebody to generate a single bowl of cigarettes.

As time went on, the idea for the modern-day bar evolved. It had been no longer essential to have a chimney in order to smoke. People were in a position to pack their very own cigarettes in tins and put them in the bank books. A smoker could pack his own and go on it with him to work.

The first “smoking room” to be built had not been to resemble a bar at all, but instead, an antebellum plantation house. Smokers could go there after their day in the field and relax and smoke. As the usage of the smoke pipe became popular, so did the necessity for these items.

As the usage of the smoke pipe evolved, so too did the construction of the tobacco pipe that was needed to smoke. The tobacco pipes were crafted from clay to help keep the smoke from floating away. They were often attached to the end of each bar to help keep the smoking material within its pipe. The first “tobacco pipes” were made to help cigarette smokers avoid lighting another cigarette on someone else’s cigarette. In this way, they could continue smoking and avoid getting the taste of someone else’s cigarette.

The invention of the smoking bar changed all this. Instead of the chimney being attached to the end of the bar to keep the smoke pipe from escaping, the bar became the place where all smokers could meet and socialize. This gave rise from what we know today as the “smoker’s club”. All smokers of cigarettes could join together in a common space and enjoy a nice relaxing smoke while they discussed their day.

Although some individuals were concerned that the bar was essentially destined to become “smoker’s club”, this didn’t happen. You may still find many places that allow smokers to get together and revel in each others company. You can find even places that focus on those who love the smell of burning wood or the sight of a fire. If you are looking for a great new spot to spend your Saturday afternoon, consider renting a puff bar. You won’t regret it.
